French Wine Tasting and Dinner
Jeanne Marie Champs is the owner of Domaines et Saveurs Collections in Beaune France. Originally from the Loire Valley, Jeanne Marie has established herself as one of the premier representatives of quality wines from the Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire and Champagne regions of France. Her wines mainly come from small wineries that represent some of the top wines of their regions and are recognized around the world for their quality.
She will show five wines listed below at the Tasting Reception with appetizers included. The Dinner will feature a wonderfull three course menu including wine. Join us for the tasting reception 5:30 - 7p.m. for only $15.00. Join us for the tasting reception and Dinner both for $34.00! Dinner service at 7p.m. These wines represent exceptional value and extremely high quality. All wines will be for sale that evening in case lots only with delivery by Friday October 3, 2008.

Chateau Couronneau [kooh-rohn-noh]
Region: Bordeaux ($166.00/Case)
Name of wine: Bordeaux White Sec 2007
Description of wine: Dry white wine, 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Sauvignon Gris; citric taste, grassy. Named one of the top Bordeaux Blancs by “Aperitif” magazine; organically grown wine, no added sulfites. Cuisine et Vins de France Magazine named Christophe the “Top winemaker in Bordeaux for the year 2002.”

Domaine Noemie Goichot [Noh-mee Goh-shoh]
Region: Cotes du Rhone ($162.00/Case)
Name of wine: Domaine Noemie Goichot Cotes du Rhone 2006
Description of wine: Dry red wine, 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah. Vines 30 years old on average. Dark purple with some tone of violet. Full of red fruit with blackberries, spices on the nose, elegance. Bottled after 14 months of aging. Lightly fined and light filtrations.

Chateau Couronneau [kooh-rohn-noh]
Region: Bordeaux ($128.00/Case)
Name of wine: Ecuyer de Couronneau 2004/2005
Description of wine: Dry red, 100% Merlot; Organic wine with minimal filtering. No oak aging to maintain the taste of the fruit. Light tannins with the taste and smell of ripe cherries and blackberries.

Chateau Couronneau [kooh-rohn-noh]
Region: Bordeaux ($160.00/Case)
Name of wine: Bordeaux Superieur 2006
Description of wine: This delicious dry red wine is composed of 100% Merlot. It is certified organic, and no sulfites are added to it. It has a fruity nose and taste. Only limited quantities of this wine are produced. Cuisine et Vins de France magazine named the proprietor, Christophe Piat, the “Top winemaker in Bordeaux for the year 2002.” The 2006 vintage was a Gold Medal winner in a Paris competition.

Domaine d’Orfeuilles [dohr-fuh-ya]
Region: Loire Valley ($190.00/Case)
Name of wine: Domaine d’Orfeuilles: Sparkling Vouvray: Brut
Description of wine: Dry/fruity white sparkling wine, 100% Chenin Blanc, made according to the traditional method for making Champagne. Aged in the bottle for 3 years. Bright light yellow with slightly silvery reflections. Wine has fine persistent bubbles. Nose is expressive with an aroma of marshmallow and vanilla. In the mouth, it reveals a certain freshness as well as a touch of liveliness, very quickly softened.

Name of wine: Chateau Couronneau Pierre de Cartier Blanc 2003
Description of wine: Dry white wine, 90% Sauvignon Gris, 10% Semillon. Citric taste; grassy, complex, full wine. Organically grown wine, no added sulfites. Oak aged in new barrels, 1/3 American oak, 2/3 French oak. Hand picked and sorted. Egg white clarified with no additional filtering. Winemaker named the “Top Winemaker in Bordeaux for the year 2002” by Cuisine et Vins de France Magazine. Only 200 cases of this wine are made each year.

Francoise & Denis Clair [frahn-soize and day-nee klare]
Region: Burgundy (Cote de Beaune region) ($255.00/Case)
Name of wine: Francoise & Denis Clair: Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Beaune 2004
Description of wine: This dry red wine is 100% Pinot Noir and is produced by one of the top boutique Burgundy houses. It is a soft, fruity wine with an excellent aroma of cherry and currant. It has a rich ruby color and long-lingering taste. 1 year in oak barrels. Production is very limited.
